Open your iPhone with a pocket knife

This is the first time this phone was getting its back cover taken off (that black cover was taken off before – then i decided to record this one), no scratches left after because there is no ‘tool’ going around the edges, the sharp side of the can opener tool is under the stainless track/screw tabs on the back cover (careful not to break off the screw tabs – i did that one one phone already trying this for the first time) – i was very lucky with this video to get it done so quick, that was definatey the quickest to date..

The back (rounded) side of the can opener would be on the chrome/black going around the phone, apply a small amount of pressure on each side, opening slowly, you just need to create a crack you can slip a simcard or guitar pick in there and seperate the cover from the screen. OR if you pry it open wide enough with the opener you may not need to go around the edge/seam with a tool. It will click/pop on either side – remember to take out the sim card ;) you can see i forgot.

After opening a few iPhones I realized there must be an easier way than trying to force something between the seams. I must admit the three phones i took apart before i learned how to do this without damaging the phone really got tore up. One that is a pieced together hybrid of a 1.1.2 and a 1.0.2 was taken apart literally a dozen times and the scratches were minimal but there was still space in the seam after I opened it by sliding a tool between the seams of the phone. I started using the can opener top pop it open after i would slide a sim card, guitar pick, whatever i could get in there, then i decided to just try the can opener, and with a little prying (harder than you think you should) in the right places, and it just poped right off.
