IPSWTool from theiphoneproject.org is going to bring the same user friendly GUI interface to customizing your PWNED firmwares, as iLiberty+ and iPlus brought to unlocking and pre-installing applications/fixes. You will now also be able to select the apps you want preinstalled/bundled with your PWNED custom ipsw and then use iTunes to restore your iPhone with the modified firmware file (ipsw) and viola, you will have a custom Unlocked, Jailbkreaked and Activated iPhone with your apps (installer, ssh, bsdsubsystem, appsupport etc) pre-installed. That should make restoring and unlocking your phone easier than ever before. Have a look a the demo video below for more info.
Planned features for release
The following features are planned to be included in the first release of iPSWTool
-
Add custom applications/patches/wallpapers/ringtones (Obviously)
-
The ability to read an iLiberty payload and convert it’s instructions in a way that they will be applied to the IPSW (May require a few modifications to the payload and/or sh script, but we’ll be sure to put up a few detailed articles about doing that later on)
-
Limited partition customization, for now (Change the size of the OS/Media partitions, but no creating additional ones or making it only one partition, just for now)
